Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Students

The Year 6 students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Francis of Assisi Parish on Friday evening, 19th August. The Sacrament of Confirmation is the final Sacrament of Initiation.  In Confirmation the students will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide them through their adolescent and adult life. The students enjoyed a visit by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe, who will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with the candidates.  Archbishop Costelloe commented to me that the students were clearly well prepared to receive their Confirmation and he felt an excitement from them about this special occasion.  Thank you to Fr Joseph, Miss Zurzolo, Mrs Theseira and Mrs Keddie for preparing the students and for organising the Sacramental Mass.

God of all ages,
You send out your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people,
Look kindly on our candidates for Confirmation as they seek to hear your voice.

We pray that you send your Spirit to enlighten, guide, strengthen, console, and open their hearts as they continue to seek a closer relationship with you.
Help them to truly know the deep and abiding love you have for each of them and fill them with the joy of your presence

We praise you through Christ our Lord
Amen

Musical

We invite parents and friends to come along and enjoy the performance of the Year 4, 5 and 6 Musical, Little Red Riding Hood.  The performance will take place on Thursday 25th  August at 11.30am in the Undercover Area.  Thank you to Mrs Aldred and teachers for their hard work in preparing the musical. We welcome our adjudicators form the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival to the performance.

Book Week 2022

Book Week will be celebrated at school next week.  The theme for Book Week this year is, “Dreaming With Open Eyes.”  The much-anticipated Book Week Parade will be on Thursday 25th August commencing at 9.00am.  Parents and friends are most welcome to come along and join in the fun.  This year we encourage creative and home-made costumes.  Thank you to the P&F for providing the book voucher prizes for the Book Week Parade.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle – Saturday 20th August

The annual P&F Bunnings Sausage Sizzle is on Saturday 20th August at Bunnings Midland.  Sincerest thanks to the P&F committee for organising the sausage sizzle to raise funds for the school.  It is wonderful to see that we have so many volunteers eager to come along and lend a hand to ensure the success of this fund-raising event.

I am most grateful to Borrello Beef for supplying the sausages.  Please support Borrello Beef, where you can, to thank them for their generous support of the school.

Please come down to the sausage sizzle on Saturday and say hello and support the P&F.

Storytelling in the Library

We will have story telling in the Library on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd August at 8.30am to celebrate Book Week.  The story telling will be for students from Kindy to Year 6 who are welcome to pop in with their parents, or on their own, to enjoy a story from the short listed book awards.  Story time will commence promptly at 8.30 and be for 5-10 minutes only.

I look forward to the Year 6 Confirmation on Friday evening.  Thank you to the students from other year levels who have volunteered to come along and sing in the choir.  Your generosity of spirit is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes for the busy week ahead.

Warm regards
