Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Students
Mission Sunday 23rd October 2022
We pray that every member of the Church
may be witnesses of Christ
by word and deed,
wherever they find themselves.
May the Spirit inspire each of us to offer the right word,
at the right time and in the right way.
We pray to the Lord for all those who show great courage
and joy in proclaiming the Gospel in all lands.
The students of Matthew Gibney raised $378 for the Catholic Missions through our Crazy Odd Sock and Hat Day, last week. This money will help to continue missionary works around the world.
Matthew Gibney Day
Just a reminder that we require an RSVP for our Matthew Gibney Day celebrations which will be taking place next week on Friday 28th October. This will assist with catering and seating requirements.
A ‘Jotform’ link was sent home via SeeSaw earlier this week. Please use this for your RSVP.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to this important day in our school calendar.
An outline of the day:
9.00 a.m. Mass
10.00 a.m. Open classrooms
10.40 a.m. Morning Tea
11.30 a.m. Class Performances (ending at approximately 12.30 p.m.)
SUMMER UNIFORM
Our summer uniform is now the official uniform for this Term. Thank you to the families who have responded to the request to ensure black school shoes, rather than joggers, are being worn.
I would also like to remind parents of the expectations regarding hair. The uniform guidelines, which can be found on our school website, state that hair must be neat and styled in a manner in keeping with this policy. Students with hair longer than collar length are to wear their hair tied back. Hair is to be tied back with plain navy or gold hair ribbons, scrunchies or headbands (no logos or licensed merchandise.) Black/brown hair elastics may also be used.
All hair must be clean with fringes above eyebrow length. ‘Fad’ haircuts and hairstyles (zig-zag stripes, shaved patches, rats’ tails, excessive hair gel and haircuts shorter than a number 2 do not align with our Uniform Policy).
Thank you to all families who ensure that their children follow our Uniform Policy and are well-presented and groomed.
Wellness Week
We have a Wellness Week planned for Week Four – Monday 31st October to Friday 4th November. An outline of planned activities and suggestions for this week will be sent home via SeeSaw next week.
Have a great week!
Warm regards
Diane Scriven
Principal (Short Term)
