Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Students
It has been lovely to be back at school and greet students and parents after my period of leave. Thank you to Diane Scriven and Karen Keddie for looking after everything during my absence. They have done a wonderful job, making it very smooth for my return.

Dear God, please bless my grandparents.
Thank you for the life they gave my parents
and for the life, they give to me.
For the ways they helped me and made me strong, I give thanks.
For the ways, they love me no matter what, I rejoice.
For the ways, they have paved the road that leads me here, I am grateful.
Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life.
Let them find peace and rest from their work.
Let them be healed of every sickness and pain.
Amen
Staffing News
It is with a heavy heart that I inform our community that after 24 years of dedicated service to the school, Mrs Diane Scriven will be retiring at the end of this year. Mrs Scriven has been teacher, Assistant Principal and Short-Term Principal during her time at the school. Diane is a passionate educator and her contribution to the success of the school, over the past 24 years, has been significant. She will be greatly missed. However, I acknowledge that after such a successful career Diane feels now is the time to retire to spend more time with her family. We will celebrate Diane’s long and successful career with the school community later in the term.
Farewell to Louell Renzullo and Welcome to Trishna Baulka
As indicated to parents earlier this week, Mrs Louell Renzullo’s retirement takes effect, as from today. Louell has been a dedicated Finance Officer for the past 2 years and her contribution to the successful financial management of the school has been significant. We wish Louell all the best as she completes her working life to spend more time with family.
We welcome Mrs Trishna Baulka as our new Finance Officer. Trishna joins us from La Salle College and will be working Monday to Thursday. Please come in to the office and introduce yourselves to Trishna over the coming week. Welcome, Trishna!
World Teacher’s Day – 28th October
On Friday we celebrate World Teacher’s Day. This is a day when we acknowledge all staff who work in our school. All staff are dedicated to the wellbeing of every child and we celebrate and acknowledge their roles and the difference they make in the daily lives of our children. Please find the time to say “thank you” to our staff when you see them on Friday.
Wellness Week – 31st October to 4th November
We look forward to a successful Week of Wellness (WOW) commencing on Monday 31st October. A flier advertising the week’s activities will be sent home, via Seesaw. A few things to remember during Week of Wellness:
- Monday: The week will commence with a walk and talk of the oval on Monday morning at any time between 8.30am and 8.50 am. Parents are invited to walk around the oval, with their children, and enjoy a chat and exercise to commence the week.
- Tuesday and Wednesday 8.30 am: Storytime in the Library. Parents with Kindy and Pre-Kindy children are invited to stay.
- Thursday 1.10 pm: Parents and Grandparents are invited to bring a picnic rug and enjoy a picnic lunch with their children on the school grounds.
Cybersafe Workshop – Wednesday 2nd November
Paul Litherland, from Surf Online Safe, will be facilitating a Cybersafe Workshop for all parents on Wednesday commencing at 6.45 pm in the school library. All parents are encouraged to come along to this informative workshop. Cyber safety is such a crucial parenting and education issue and concerns all of us as parents and educators. It is an ever-changing field and it is often overwhelming for parents to keep up with what is happening for children in the online world. This workshop will give our parents information that they can take away to assist with managing online behaviours and keeping their children as safe as possible. Please join us, commencing with wine and cheese at 6.45pm. Please rsvp using the following link: https://form.jotform.com/222980482001853
Good luck to all participating in the Inter School Athletics Carnival next Tuesday. Fingers crossed for fine weather.
I look forward to welcoming parents to the Year 2 Class Liturgy next Wednesday.
I hope to see you all at the Matthew Gibney Day and Grandparents Day celebrations on Friday.
Best wishes for the week ahead. Warm regards
Therese
