Dear Parents, Friends, Students and Staff
Welcome back to Term Four. We trust you have had an enjoyable and relaxing break over the school holidays and were able to spend some time outside in the beautiful weather that we had.
It is going to be a very busy nine week term, so it is important that all parents check regularly for information and updates on school events. This information can be accessed via the SeeSaw app which is used by all classroom teachers, on Facebook and through the newsletter which is sent via an email link each week.
Staffing
Krista Gregory, our school finance officer, will be leaving our school on Friday 23rd October to take on a new, exciting position with another company. We are very grateful for all that she has done for our school and the next two weeks will be very busy for her as she works alongside Louell Renzullo who will be taking on the role for the rest of this year. We welcome Louell to our school and look forward to having her on our staff.
EduDance
The students have been very excited to start their lessons this week and had a great session on Wednesday. Students will present their dance items at our end of year concert on Friday 4th December. Please keep this date free on your calendar. Further information will be sent home later this term.
Book Week Swap Meet
On Tuesday 20th October, PP to Year 6 students will be given an opportunity to purchase a book for a dollar donation. All money raised will be donated to Lifelink which supports many different Catholic Perth-based organisations that assist those less fortunate and are experiencing personal difficulties. 4 Year old Kindy will be able to buy a book on Monday 19th October, during school time.
Book Character Parade
All students, from Kindy to Year 6, will participate in our Book Character Parade next Thursday on 22nd October. This will take place in our undercover area from 9.10am until approximately 10.10am. Our wonderful P & F will be donating prizes for each year level and we are looking forward to seeing all the creative and imaginative costumes that celebrate books. Parents are invited to attend the parade. A coffee van is in the process of being organised so that parents can purchase a coffee before the parade. We anticipate the coffee van being set up near the canteen from 8.15am that morning.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Collection
This is on the Term Planner to start in Week 2. However, as we have such a busy Book Week, it has been decided to commence the collection in Week 3. Our school has always supported this initiative very generously and has assisted many families in the local area over the Christmas period. Information will be sent home via SeeSaw to advise families which items are being collected by classes.
Matthew Gibney Day Invitation
Friday, 30th October is MATTHEW GIBNEY DAY. This is a big annual event and we are so lucky that we can celebrate with our community this year. The children have been working hard to prepare a morning of entertainment and are looking forward to sharing their talents with you.
All students will be delivering an invitation to families next week. Morning tea will be provided for parents during the break between items. Our Kindy students have a sensational exhibition of their art, and we would highly recommend that you visit the library to see their creativity.
Remembrance Day
As indicated on the Term Four Planner, we will have our annual Remembrance Day liturgy on Tuesday 10th November, instead of Wednesday 11th November.
Enrolments
Parents are reminded that the school must be notified in writing as soon as possible if students are not returning in 2021. We have waitlists for some classes and would like to confirm places for families as early as possible.
We are still accepting enrolments for Pre-Kindy in 2021. Please let friends and families know that they should contact our front office if they are interested in finding out about the excellent Pre-Kindy programme that our school has to offer.
Have a great week!
