Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Students
This week our Year 3 students, and their parents, participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation Workshop. The workshop provides valuable preparation for our families as they ensure the children are as ready as possible to receive the Sacrament at the end of the term. The teaching staff do a terrific job in preparing the children. However, as parents are the first educators of their children in faith, it is always essential that our parents have every opportunity to be involved. Sincerest thanks to Ms Keddie and Mrs Hawley for preparing for the workshop. Please keep our Year 3 students in your prayers during their next few weeks of preparation.
Loving God help us to teach our children that you love us totally and unconditionally. Help us to encourage our children to grow in love and to learn how to say sorry, knowing that you always forgive. Give us the courage to pray with our children and to share our faith with them as we journey together.
Absences from School
Once again, I remind parents that notification of a student absence must be forwarded to the administration office, prior to 8.55am. Teachers do not have time in the mornings to check absentee emails. If the administration office is not notified of an absentee, an SMS can be sent out unnecessarily. The administration staff need to finalise all absentees before 10.00am. This is becoming increasingly difficult when we do not receive timely notification from parents. Absentee checks are completed to ensure the safety and whereabouts of all our students. Parent cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
Sports Carnival Canteen Ordering
Parents are reminded that canteen pre-orders for the Sports Day need to be placed by Tuesday 31st August. No online ordering is available for the Sports Day special canteen menu and no late orders can be accepted. There will be a special morning tea for visitors and special morning tea items for the students. Once again, there will be no pre-ordering for these items and parents and students will need to pay in cash. The regular lunch menu will be available for students and may be ordered online or in person.
Parent Help Required
Mrs Honter would appreciate some parents to help out with the canteen orders during the Sports Day. It is a busy canteen day and a number of helpers are required. Please let Mrs Honter or Mrs Kays know if you are available to help.
P&F Bunnings Sausage Sizzle
Donations towards the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 28th August have been overwhelmingly generous. Thank you to our wonderful parents for their generous support. A few additional helpers are still required for the afternoon sessions. Please let office staff know if you are available to help or add your name to the online roster that was shared on Seesaw. Money raised for the sausage sizzle will go towards the 30th Anniversary Nature Playgrounds Project.
Father’s Day Breakfast
Thank you to the P&F for organising the Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday 3rd September. We look forward to a big crowd joining us to celebrate the special gift that our Fathers are to their families.
Scholastic Book Fair
The annual Scholastic Book Fair will commence on Friday 3rd September and be available until Tuesday 7th September, both before and after school. The Scholastic Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity for parents to stock up on Christmas gifts. Sincerest thanks to Marnie Hughes for organising the Scholastic Book Fair, once again this year.
Sport Carnival Day
The Athletics Carnival is quickly approaching. The carnival commences with the jumps and throws on Thursday 2nd September. This will be followed by the main carnival for students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 on Friday 3rd September. We keep our fingers crossed for fine weather. The Athletics Carnival is always a great day of fun competition for our students and we hope that parents will be able to come along and enjoy the day. Thank you to Mr Oliver Battistessa for his work in preparing for the carnival.
The Pre-Primary Assembly is tomorrow morning commencing at 9.00am. These young students have been busily preparing and we wish them all the best for their performance.
Best wishes for the week ahead.
