From Principal – Term 2, Week 5

May 24, 2022

Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Students

Our prayers and best wishes to the Year 4 students, their families, and teachers, as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Sunday morning.  The students are looking forward to this significant moment in their faith journey. It is a joy to hear the excitement the students have about their First Communion Day. My wish for the Year 4 students, as they grow close to Jesus through the blessed Eucharist, is that they will continue to seek the nourishment of the Eucharist as often as possible, throughout their lives. My thanks to Jordyn Sheldrick, Karen Keddie, and Fr Joseph for their preparation of the students to receive the Sacrament on Sunday.

First Eucharist Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of the Eucharist You left us the outstanding manifestation of your limitless love for us.

Thank You for giving our children the opportunity to experience this love in receiving the Sacrament for the first time.

May your Eucharist presence keep them ever free from sin, fortified in faith, and immersed by love for God and neighbour. May they continue to receive You throughout life.

Amen

P&F Events

The P&F meeting this week was well attended.  We are pleased to offer an opportunity for parents to attend either in person or online.  We will continue to work on refining the online format.  The P&F have had a successful start to Term Two.  The lap-a-thon, Mother’s Day Liturgy shopping experience and the Election Stalls have been successful events.  The P&F have raised more than $5000 from these events alone.  Thank you to our parents for their continuing support and encouragement of the P&F in their friend raising and fund-raising efforts.

The P&F have generously purchased 5 marquees for the school.  We have 4 new marquees of each faction colour to use for sport carnivals,  and one for whole school events with the school colours and logo.

Thank you to our parents and friends for supporting the P&F election day stall.   The donations of cakes for the cake stall were most generous.  It was wonderful to see so many of our parents helping out on the day.  The booth was well attended and the sales on the day exceeded all expectations.  This was another example of our parents coming together for the benefit of the community.  thank you!

The P&F hosted a coffee morning this morning.  We will continue to offer coffee mornings throughout the year as a way for our parents to come together and share ideas and hear what is happening with the P&F.  This morning our parents had an opportunity to meet Chloe Grant, our school social worker, and provide Chloe with some ideas about parent workshops that Chloe can offer later in the term.
