Dear Parents, Friends, Students and Staff,
The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want. (Psalm 22)
As I prepare this newsletter, overlooking the tranquil blue ocean, from our camp in Busselton I can truly reflect that there is “nothing I shall want.” We are privileged and blessed by God to enjoy such a beautiful environment, a wonder of creation and an opportunity to enjoy all the blessings that he has given us here in Western Australia.
The Year Six students are thoroughly enjoying their time away in Busselton. They have had a close encounter with dolphins, enjoyed an early morning beach walk, lovely meals and fun evening games. Today they look forward to rock climbing, raft building and team games. This camp is all about making memories before the Year Six students head off to high school at the end of this year. We have had an early start each morning, as to be expected on camp, but I am happy to report that Miss Zurzolo, Mrs Keddie and Mrs Tormey have been up and ready with as much enthusiasm for the day as the students. We are expecting to be back at school by 2.30p.m. on Friday afternoon and look forward to seeing parents when we return, full of stories about the experiences of camp.
Date Changes
The Year Four Assembly has been postponed to Friday 27th November. Please note this date change on your calendars.
Please note that the Pre-Primary 2021 orientation date advertised on the school planner for 25th November has been cancelled. This date was for parents only. A note explaining the process for the parent orientation for Pre-Primary in 2021 will be sent home to parents shortly.
Enrolments 2021
We currently have wait lists for a number of classes for 2021. In order to cater as best we can for new families, please inform the office as soon as possible if you will not be returning to Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School in 2021.
Parents and Friends 2021
The final P&F Meeting for 2020 will be held on Wednesday 18th November commencing at 7.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend as the P&F plan events for 2021. Parent representatives for each year level will be decided at the Annual Community Meeting on Wednesday 25th November. Nomination forms will be coming home shortly. Please consider nominating as a parent rep. We would love to see more parents volunteering for these positions. The wider the representation of parent reps we have, the better it is for our community. Please have a chat with an existing parent rep, or myself, should you be interested in finding out more information about parent reps for 2021.
Best wishes for the week ahead.
