Making Jesus Real  Week 6 Term 3

FRIENDSHIP

All around the world, successful friendship depends on the same, fundamental skills.

To be successful, children must:

  • regulate their own, negative emotions;
  • understand other people’s emotions and perspectives;
  • show sympathy, and offer help to friends in need;
  • feel secure and trusting of other people;
  • know how to handle introductions, and participate in conversation;
  • be capable of cooperation, negotiation, and compromise;
  • know how to apologize, and make amends; and
  • be understanding (and forgiving) of other people’s mistakes.

These are all skills that we promote and practise through our MJR program.

MILO MONDAYS

Next Monday 30th August, is our last Milo Monday for 2021.

A huge thank you to all the students who have come each week and bought a milo to support the Mini Vinnies.  Don’t forget you can order online or buy one at recess.

Your generosity each week, is very much appreciated.  The money that we have raised this year, will go to our local St Vincent De Paul Society of Maida Vale.  We know that there are many families in the local area who require support and assistance.

WINTER CLOTHING APPEAL

Thank you to all those who have donated unwanted clean clothes to the Vinnies Winter Appeal.  This will be picked up on Friday.

SAVE THE DATE! Parish School Lunch – Gift from the Parishioners of St Francis of Assisi Parish.

The parishioners of St Francis of Assisi Parish have decided to gift the school with a school and parish community lunch on Sunday 17th October to celebrate our 30th anniversary.  The parish are arranging a luncheon for all members of the school and parish community. Families are encouraged to come along and enjoy this most generous gift from the parish.

Parent Intentions and Enrolments for 2022

Each year we have families discontinue their enrolment at Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School, for a variety of reasons.  In order for us to allocate places to families who are currently on a wait list for the 2022 school year, I request that families who either know they will be moving, or those families who are thinking about a possible move, to please let the school know as soon as possible.  It is important that we can offer some certainty to parents who would like their child to attend our school in 2022.

Kindy Good News
