HOW CAN WE TEACH KIDS ABOUT FRIENDSHIP?    

As parents and family members …  Set a good example and be a good friend yourself.

This is one of the greatest ways to teach kids about being a good friend. Talk to your kids about your friends in positive ways. Make time for your friends and find opportunities to help them, and bring your kids along so that they can be involved too. Think about the characteristics you value in good friends and consistently demonstrate them yourself.

It is important that we clearly explain what good friends do.  Good friends…

• Remember important things (birthdays, accomplishments, etc.)
• Are reliable.
• Do kind things for one another and use kind language.
• Help out when a friend is sad or has a problem.
• Like to spend time together.
• Have fun with one another.

ASH WEDNESDAY PRAYER SERVICES

Ash Wednesday is on the 2nd March.  Due to the ongoing Covid situation, Fr Joseph will bless the ashes on the Tuesday for us and the children will receive their ashes in a classroom prayer service on the Wednesday.   

ITALIAN DAY

We will be holding an Italian Day on Thursday 3rd March.  Signora Davey has organised for a gelato van to visit the school, and every child will be able to have a gelato as a special treat. The children have practising how to ask for their gelato in Italian.  We will also have a slice of pizza to go with our lunch.  Students are invited to dress in Italian colours on the day and really get into the spirit.
