Making Jesus Real – Week 5 COMPASSION

This fortnight, we are focusing on the value of compassion. 

To care deeply for the needs of another person or creature is an expression of our love for them. This tender concern is called compassion.

We show compassion each year, through our efforts to raise funds for Project Compassion. The money raised supports people around the globe and here at home in Australia, to live with dignity and to make a true difference for themselves and their families.  Each week, we will learn more about how our compassion can change lives.

Project Compassion Sunday 26th & 27th February

This week, your family will have received a Project Compassion box to support Caritas Australia this Lenten season and help support vulnerable people around the world, now and For All Future Generations.

With your support, Caritas Australia has been able to support vulnerable communities around the world to tackle poverty, food security, education, water and sanitation and disaster risk reduction. Project Compassion 2022 reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come to build better future for all.

As St Pope John Paul II said,

“The future starts today, not tomorrow.”

Together, we can help vulnerable communities face their challenges today and build a better tomorrow For All Future Generations.

Year 5 Mini Vinnies

On Wednesday, the newest members of the Matthew Gibney Mini Vinnies were commissioned at our Ash Wednesday Prayer Service.  The students were excited and looking forward to continuing to be the hearts and hands of Jesus, through their social justice outreach.  Congratulations to all the students for undertaking this commitment.
