Cyber Safety Workshop Term 4

The P&F have organised a parent wine and cheese workshop evening, facilitated by Paul Litherland from Surf Online Safe, about cybersafety for children.  The workshop will take place on Wednesday 2nd November at 7.00pm.  Please save the date.

NAIDOC Week News

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.  

This year’s NAIDOC theme is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!  

This week our students engaged in sensory language, music, dance, food and drama activities with some special guests along the way to celebrate NAIDOC.

On Tuesday our students enjoyed some tasty bush tucker! On Wednesday we held a very special Liturgy with an outstanding oral performance from our Year 5. ‘Little J and Big Cuz’ made and appearance on the Library TV at Recess on Thursday, with about half the school engaged in the deadly show about Aboriginal children!

On Friday the 22nd of June, Matthew Gibney will be officially opening our Yarning Circle. We are expecting many important guests and would love many more families to come and join us! This is going to be a very special day. Thank you to all Matthew Gibney staff for all their efforts all year round to include and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education!
