St Vincent De Paul Food Collection

Last Friday, we received an urgent request from St Vincent De Paul to assist them with collecting pantry food items.  The Society has had their stocks severely depleted due to the hardships faced by many families in the past few weeks.  The response from our community has been nothing short of amazing.  We would like to thank all our families who have so generously sent in food items to support others in need.  The Year 5 Mini Vinnies, helped to pack the boxes that Mrs Hussey will deliver to Leederville this Saturday.  Great work Matthew Gibney Community!

Milo Mornings Coming Soon

The Year 5 Mini Vinnie have had a few ups and downs this year, but we are going to start our fundraising efforts for St Vincent De Paul with our world-famous MILO MORNINGS in Week 7 of this term.  To assist us with our extra hygiene measures, we ask that children bring in the correct amount of coin, so there is as little handling of money as possible.

Warm Milo $1

Marshmallows 50 cents extra.

P&F and School Board Meetings

The P&F and Board Meetings were held earlier this week.  The format of the meetings, via Zoom, in order to keep to the regulation numbers, did not deter parents from attending. I am most grateful to the Board and the P&F for their support of the school during the past few weeks.  We now look to the future with optimism and the School Board and the P&F have a number of projects planned to continue improvements and opportunities for engagement for our community.  Look out for announcements about events planned for parents and students over the coming weeks and months.  Although we cannot gather in large numbers there are still ways we can continue to be connected with each other to support all families in our community.

Faction Cross Country Event

Mrs Hewitt will organise the Faction Cross Country Carnival to be held on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May during physical education lessons.  All students from Year One to Year Six will participate in the cross-country event.  Medals and the shield will be presented in classrooms following the event and students will be photographed and videoed for parents.  Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions on numbers at gatherings parents will not be able to come along and watch.

Pre-Kindy and Kindy Enrolments 2021

Our Pre-Kindy and Kindy enrolment interviews will take place in Term Two and Term Three.  Current families who wish to enrol in one of the Kindy programs are reminded that an application form needs to be completed and returned to the school as soon as possible so an interview can be arranged.

Please support our Kindy programs by informing other family members, friends and neighbours that Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School is currently accepting enrolments. Application forms are available on the website or from the administration office. https://www.gibney.wa.edu.au/forms/
