The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ 14th June 2020

On the Thursday or Sunday after Trinity Sunday, the Church celebrates The Feast of Corpus Christi, also known as The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

The word ‘Eucharist’ comes from the Greek word ‘Eucharisteo’, which means ‘give thanks’. We give to Jesus ordinary bread and wine; he gives to us body and soul, when we receive his body and blood which gives us eternal life.  The Eucharist is also unifying; uniting us with God and with each other.  Nourished by Jesus’ Eucharistic presence, we leave Mass and go back to our homes, workplaces, and places of gathering as the living Body of Christ, to do his work in the world today. To make his Kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven.

Mini Vinnies Milo Mornings

It was a cool and wet morning and warm milo was just the ticket.  It was great to see how many students brought along their travel cups, so we didn’t have to use many disposable cups.   We raised $133 for St Vincent De Paul’s Winter Appeal.

Enrolments 2021

Thank you to parents and grandparents who recommend our school to others in the community.  We have had a few enrolments over this past week that are a direct result of an existing family recommendation.  Your positive and kind words to others about the school are greatly appreciated.

We are currently focusing our enrolment efforts on Pre-Kindy for 2021.  Please encourage family members, friends and neighbours to consider Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School for Pre-Kindy.

Pre-Kindy 2021

We are currently accepting enrolments for Pre-Kindy in 2021.  Children are invited to commence in the Pre-Kindy class at any time during the year, once they have turned three years old.  Our Pre-Kindy program is staffed by a qualified early childhood teacher and teacher assistant.  The program is competitively priced at $55 per session.  The sessions are for one full day.  Please encourage neighbours, friends and family to consider the Pre-Kindy at Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School for their three-year-old children as an excellent alternative to daycare.  Enrolment information for Pre-Kindy is available on the website or from the administration office.  https://www.gibney.wa.edu.au/enrolment/
