Haircuts Appropriate for School
Thank you to our parents for sending their children to school well-groomed and looking smart in their school uniforms. Please be reminded that haircuts for school need to be appropriate. The uniform policy clearly states the following requirements:
- For health reasons, when a child’s hair is of collar length or longer it must be tied back off the face.
Long fringes should be clipped back off the face. The fringe should not be below the eyebrows. (boys and girls). - Colouring or tinting of hair is not acceptable on a temporary or permanent basis.
No patterns, etc can be cut into the hair. - A number 1 haircut or shorter is not permitted.
Thank you for supporting our uniform and grooming expectations.

Milo Morning Week 8
We had another great day on Thursday and were well supported again by our school community.

We will be selling Milo through till the middle of next Term to raise money to assist the St Vincent De Paul Society’s Winter Appeal.
Updated Parish Mass Times
Our Parish of St Francis of Assisi, Maida Vale, has resumed weekend Masses with strict COVID 19 hygiene and social distancing provisions in place.
Saturday: 5:00pm and Sung Mass at 6:30pm
Sunday: 8:00am and Sung Mass only at 9:30am and 6:00pm
The Sung Mass at 9:30am has 22 members in the choir. The church can only accommodate 80 Parishioners (including the choir) at any one time, therefore, if you wish to attend the 9:30am Mass, it is important that you register your name (including individual names of your family member) either email maida.vale@perthcatholic.org.au or phone 9454 6385 – Parish Secretary, Monica Holmes – it will be on a first come basis.
Please note there is no need to register if you are attending the same mass as last weekend.
Thank you for your support and co-operation.
God Bless,
Fr Joseph Rathnaraj
Parish Priest
Cross Country
With most PE lessons in the last few weeks having been in the undercover area due to rain, we were blessed with fantastic weather for our cross-country carnival. All students should be very proud of themselves for not only completing the run but setting themselves goals and challenging themselves throughout the run and in the lead up while training. Students should be commended with the outstanding display of sportsmanship by all, with everyone cheering for their peers and supporting them as they crossed the finish line. This year also saw the highest participation rate from students which is fantastic to see everyone being involved for their faction and having a go.
Congratulations to our individual champions.

Enrolments 2021
Thank you to parents and grandparents who recommend our school to others in the community. We have had a few enrolments over this past week that are a direct result of an existing family recommendation. Your positive and kind words to others about the school are greatly appreciated.
We are currently focusing our enrolment efforts on Pre-Kindy for 2021. Please encourage family members, friends and neighbours to consider Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School for Pre-Kindy.
